Captain new build 80ft Sailing Yacht

Sailing Match is hiring! We’re looking for a Captain for a brand new 80ft sailing yacht launching this June.
This is a rare opportunity to take command of a new build from day one and grow with the programme as it develops into a full charter operation based out of Spain. The long-term plan is a proper charter operation, with a Caribbean season from winter 2027/28. For the right captain, this is a position to grow into.

CAPTAIN
We need a serious sailing captain with ocean miles, and the mechanical knowledge to back it up. The captain will be directly responsible for the mechanical upkeep of the vessel managing onboard systems, troubleshooting, and liaising with yard work .
The captain will be expected to manage yard work and contractors, oversee budgets, and handle the day-to-day accounting and administration that comes with running a serious yacht programme. Charter experience is a real plus — familiarity with guests, brokers, MYBA agreements and the commercial side of yacht operations.
Motor yacht captains, please don’t apply , sailing experience is essential and non-negotiable.
Qualifications:
Yachtmaster Ocean commercially endorsed
Valid STCW & ENG1
AEC 1 & 2 a plus
The programme:
Mid/end May: vessel handover, Finland
Summer: charter & private, Palma based
Cannes Yachting Festival & Rolex Swan Cup
October: Badalona
Winter: STP Shipyard, Palma — refit & charter prep
Winter 2027/28: Caribbean
Full-time permanent position. Salary and package industry standard.
