Position Sole Engineer – 38m Private Motor Yacht

Vessel Details

38m Private Motor Yacht – Commercially registered, Isle of Man flagged – Med-based with Palma winter base – 40 days of owner use annually – Crew of 6 – ABS class – Season runs April–September, followed by winter maintenance – Major 20-year survey and QL3 of MTUs scheduled in Tarragona

Responsibilities

Full responsibility for vessel’s engineering systems – Lead 20-year survey planning and execution – Strong troubleshooting, PMS, and ISM management – Work closely with captain and assist in project management – Willingness to support outside engineering as needed – Hands-on technical duties with MTU 4000 experience essential

Requirements

Y3 or EOOW certification required – Previous Sole Engineer experience on similar-sized vessels, or 2nd Engineer from larger yachts – Extensive MTU 4000 knowledge – Familiarity with yard periods and refits – ISM and PMS system knowledge – Based in or willing to relocate to Palma preferred – Flexible and collaborative team mindset
