Mate for 22m Classic Sailing Yacht
Overview: Join a beautifully restored 22m classic sailing yacht, part of a fleet of iconic vessels, with an exciting focus on sailing, racing, and high standards of professionalism. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated mate looking to grow in responsibility and leadership.
Key Details:
• Role: Mate, responsible for assisting the captain and leading the deck crew. Will relieve the captain when needed.
• Itinerary:
• Winter 2024/25: Shipyard period in the South of France.
• Summer 2025: Classic regatta circuit (8–9 events), potential further cruising or day sailing.
• Winter 2025/26: Either in the Caribbean or back in France.
• Crew Structure:
• Permanent crew: Captain, Mate, Deckhand, Junior Deck, Junior Stew.
• Additional crew for regattas: Race Chef and 4–6 professional race crew.
• Total onboard for racing: 18–20 (including crew, guests, and others from the fleet).
Requirements:
• Qualifications: Minimum Yachtmaster Offshore.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and ability to manage the deck crew.
• Hands-on engineering experience.
• Problem-solving and a proactive attitude.
• Friendly, professional demeanor, happy to engage with guests.
• Active and healthy lifestyle.
• Additional Preferences:
• Non-smoker/non-vaper.
• No visible large tattoos (small ones acceptable).
• Valid driver’s license.
Package:
• Salary DOE (dependent on experience).
• 38 days leave.
• No guest accommodation onboard.

• Owner and captain value professionalism and maintain the yacht to exceptionally high standards, expecting the same from all crew members.
